Clergy demand clampdown on conmen preachers

Evangelical churches yesterday urged the state to crack down on conmen preachers who fake miracles to defraud their unsuspecting flocks.

The umbrella group Evangelical Alliance of Kenya called on  law enforcers to ensure those who  misuse the word of God to swindle believers are punished according to law.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has already ordered an investigation of pastor Victor Kanyari of the Salvation Healing Ministry for allegedly obtaining money by false presences.  KTN recently reported a miracle-faking spree by Kanyari who swindled the faithful.

In one of his "miracles," church assistants washed feet with water mixed with potassium permanganate, which made the solution turn red and and the feet appeared to be bleeding.  It was not the first expose about the pastor.

Early this year, Kanyari was caught on tape advising a childless woman to spend the night at his house so that her first child would be “mbegu ya pastor" (pastor’s seed).

Kanyari's mother, so-called Prophetess Lucy Nduta, was jailed for two years in 2006 for receiving money after promising to cure people of HIV-Aids.  Kanyari has said he never forced anyone to contribute but admitted people had been coached to give testimonials to his powers.

Other men of God have amassed fortunes and built palatial homes by using tithes and offerings from their flock.  “Those are wolves in sheepskin whose conduct is that of charlatans and conmen, and they should be dealt with in accordance with the law, just like other criminals,” said Bishop Mark Kariuki at a press conference in Nairobi yesterday.

  “The evangelical church believes in the word of God and we are aware that there are false prophets who have existed since time immemorial.”  In a statement read on behalf of his fellow bishops, Kariuki said there should not be a blanket condemnation of the church because of one "rotten tomato".

He urged security agents to intensify vigilance and carry out thorough background checks before approving anyone who wants to register a church.

“The problem is with the National Intelligence Service. They are the ones who give clearance,” he added.  At the same time, the evangelical alliance cautioned believers, saying pastors who perform fake miracles and promise cures for a price do not belong to the evangelical fraternity.

“It is the hunger for money and the desire for miracles that is making people vulnerable to con-preachers," the evangelicals said in a statement.“Those who con believers are not our members and do not belong to the mainstream church," alliance secretary general Conniti Kitavi said.

The alliance also condemned the murder of 21 police officers in Kapedo in Turkana county o October 31. Kariuki said the government must bring the perpetrators of the "heinous act" to book, as well as those who bankroll criminal activities.

Police swing into action on fake Pastor KANYARI – To be jailed for ‘stealing in God’s name’

Fake pastor, Prophet Dr. Victor Kanyari’s end is finally here. This is after the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko, ordered the police to launch an investigation into his conduct.


This follows Sunday’s Jicho Pevu exposé by KTN’s investigative journalists Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu, which revealed how Kanyari has been preying on innocent and gullible followers with fake and stage-managed chemical miracles and in the process steals their money.

The DPP asked the police to swing into action on Kanyari with a view of prosecuting and jailing him if found guilty of obtaining money from unsuspecting innocent Kenyans by false pretence and cheating.

Many victims of Kanyari’s religious machinations have come out and expressed their willingness to testify against ‘the man of God’ before a court of law as long as their testimony will help send him to jail.

If found guilty, Kanyari risks being jailed for up to 10 years and fined heavily just like his mother, ‘Prophetess’  Lucy Nduta, who was taken to court over the same offenses of conning people and stealing in the name of God.

HILARIOUS: KISUMU residents throng NAIVAS SUPERMARKET to see first ever ESCALATOR in Luoland

Thrilled Kisumu shoppers have since Tuesday visited Kenyatta Avenue’s new Naivas supermarket not to shop but to go up and down the escalators, the first ever in the city.



Naivas unveiled the new supermarket on Tuesday, residents from all walks of life flocking to it as soon as news of ‘rolling stairs hit the streets’.



Adventurous shoppers made straight for the escalators to get a feel of them, the skeptical lot observing from a safe distance. There was drama as both the young and old slipped and fell. Some struggled to show their ‘prowess’ in using the escalators, relatives and friends cheering them on to the staff’s utter surprise.


“This machine is God-sent to this town. We are happy to have it in Kisumu for the first time,” a shopper, Michael Omondi, said


Omondi said many people in the town would prefer the supermarket to familiarize themselves with the new “gadget in town”.


Regina Atieno had visited the outlet with her three year-old daughter: “My daughter says I better bring her to Naivas instead of taking her to the usual children swings in the town,” she said.
There was however a group of elite shoppers who showed off going by how easily they used the escalators, and the ‘swag’ they displayed while seemingly giving the others disapproving stares.


Pioneering Kisumu’s first escalators gives Naivas supermarket a boost, besides its modern look.
Naivas business development and marketing manager Willy Kimani, speaking during the Tuesday launch, said Kisumu has great potential despite the existence of the other supermarkets in the area.
Kisumu has two Nakumatt supermarkets, one Tuskys supermarket, an Ukwala, Tumaini, Yatin and the recently launched Uchumi supermarkets.


Kimani said the opening of a branch in Kisumu is in line with Naivas supermarket’s plan to have a nationwide presence.

Naivas last year overtook listed retailer Uchumi as the third largest store by revenue behind Nakumatt and Tuskys respectively.

A: I called the number on the screen for a prayer request and he said he liked my voice.

A: He then asked me to attend his church service and I agreed. So I went there with my friend and after the service he asked all first time visitors to remain behind. He took me to his house and told me that God had revealed to him that I was to be his wife.
Q: After how long did you get married?
A: A week after meeting him, he announced in church that he was getting married. I thought he was marrying someone else because he had not proposed to me. He told us all to attend the wedding. 
Q: Oh my! At what point did you realize that you were the bride? 
A: After the announcement he asked if he could introduce the bride. We all waited in anticipation so when he called my name the first time I thought I heard wrong. Then he called me again.
Q: So you didn’t have a chance to say ‘Yes’?
A: Since God had told him I would be his wife, I had no hesitation even though I was not ready.
Q: Did you know that he was involved in a scam?
A: I didn’t have a clue.
Q: Will you remain with him in light of what has happened?
A: We will see… If he goes to prison I don’t know how long I can wait.

Embattled city pastor, Victor Kanyari, of Salvation Healing Ministries, has come out to defend his devilish acts after KTN’s investigative reporters Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu, exposed the dirty con-tricks he uses to milk money from his innocent flock.
 

 

 

While speaking to a local publication on Tuesday, Kanyari admitted that he had coached some members of his church to give false testimonies and make fake phone calls on his radio programmes to dupe listeners.

 

 

“I cannot say that I do not coach people to give testimonies,” He said but added that he was unapologetic about the seed scheme.

 

 

“Nobody is forcing them. So you cannot say those people who are sending the Sh310 are fools. They are not fools because they know why they are sending the money,” The embattled Pastor said.

Kanyari also revealed that he makes an average of Ksh 500,000 after a single preaching but uses the money for noble missions.

 

“The seed money builds the church, buys a car like this (pointing to his Ranger Rover Sport), buys church vans and buses and we also assists orphans,” He further added.

 

 

Until last month, he had two television programmes a week where he earned a cool Ksh 1 million out of them.

 

 

The scandalous pastor, who is a form two drop-out, said that he will continue with his Church Ministry and no one will dampen his spirit.

Pastor KANYARI finally admits that he fakes miracles and prayers at his church

The controversial Salvation Healing Ministry Pastor, Victor Kanyari, on Tuesday admitted to one of the local dailies that he fakes miracles and prayers to his gullible followers.

In an interview at a parking lot in Eastlands, Nairobi, the shameless pastor who was busted on Sunday by KTN’s investigative journalists, Mohamed Ali and John Allan Namu, said every human being makes mistake and said he was wrong to coach actors to give false testimonies.

“That one I admit I was wrong” Kanyari said when he was asked whether he coached actors to give false testimonies.

“It was not live recording. We did that to encourage people to call so that they can receive their prayer.  I am just a human being who makes mistakes like any other person,” he said.

However on the “Panda Mbegu Scheme” Kanyari was unapologetic saying he did not force anybody to send money and they did it on their own volition.

“Nobody is forcing them. So you cannot say those people who are sending the Sh 310 are fools. They are not fools because they know why they are sending the money,” the fake pastor said.

 Popular gospel singer, Betty Bayo, who is the wife to embattled city pastor, Victor Kanyari, says that her husband went missing from the time his con-tricks were exposed by KTN’s Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu.

Betty, who was speaking during an interview with a local radio station, said that she fainted after seeing how her husband is misleading innocent souls by performing fake miracles.

“I never knew that Kanyari was doing all that. I fainted after watching the shocking expose on Jicho Pevu.” She added.

Surprisingly, she believed that her embattled husband was a real man of God before he was exposed. Ironically, she is not a member of her husband’s church and this leaves more questions than answers.

The mellow voiced singer was worried about her husband’s whereabouts especially after he switched off his phone at around 10 pm.

“He probably fears to face me but what he should know is that I am ready to forgive him.” She further added.

Speaking to Kameme FM, Betty said that she almost fainted after watching part of the expose and could not believe her eyes. Apparently, she was just a loving wife who thought that the many bad things said about his Ministry were out of hate.

 

 

For years, she has supported him thinking that the same setbacks she faced as a musician were what he was facing and did not believe any story she heard about him including the one about Kanyari having a child with another woman who died in a fire accident.

 

 

She claims that she still does not have the strength to watch Allan Namu’s English version on YouTube but after the storm withers, she will. She further said that she has moved from her matrimonial home and may be planning on divorcing her husband.

KANYARI releases full LIST of fellow con pastors who are stealing in the name of GOD in Kenya

On Sunday evening, KTN’s investigative journalists, Mohamed Ali and John Allan Namu, released a masterpiece exposing men of the cloth who are taking advantage of their flock to enrich themselves.

The expose dubbed “Makri ya Injili” in Swahili and “Prayer Predators” in English, revealed the outright conmanship that Salvation Healing Ministries pastor, Victor Kanyari, uses to woo his gullible followers.

 

 

The two respected journalists showed how Kanyari has been stealing for the last 15 years in the name of God.

 

 

But as Kenyans still grapple with the news of pastor Kanyari, we at the Kenyan DAILY POST are going to release names of 10 con-pastors in Kenya who have perfected the art of stealing in the name of the LORD.

 

 

Here are the names;

1. Bishop Allan Kiuna and his wife – The two con pastors have been in that business for over 10 years. The two live in opulence thanks to tithes and offerings from their gullible followers and money from their fake prayers.  They perform fake miracles to their followers who are mostly young confused Kenyans. Kiunas have turned the house of worship to a public air market where all sorts of business ranging from pyramids schemes are carried at their behest. He hires youths with very polished English to woo his followers.2. Pastor Nganga - Pastor Nganga is not new to controversy.  The pastor was the first to use potassium permanganate to convert water into blood. He is a master in the game of conman ship. He is also a visitor of Koinange Street at wee hours of the night.

3. Pastor Muriithi of Mavuno Church is another controversial pastor – he uses the phrase “fake it till you make it” – He drives top of range cars and he lives in opulence. His wife uses more than sh 50,000 a day on cosmetics thanks to his gullible followers. He is also a fake pastor.

4. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru – The controversial preacher cum politician has been making millions of money thanks to his stupid followers.  Wanjiru is currently constructing a monster twin tower along Haile Selassie Avenue thanks to proceeds from her fake miracle and prayers.

5. Maina Njenga of Hope International Ministries – The former Mungiki leader is another fake pastor.  Everything which Maina does is all fake.

6. Pastor Arthur Gitonga – Pastor Gitonga plies his trade at Redeemed Gospel Church in Huruma. The pastor has built his empire thanks to his gullible supporters. He is another fake pastor!

7. Pastor Pius Muiru – He is a senior Pastor at Maximum Miracle Centre. Muiru is one of the oldest men in the trade and performs miracles at a price.

8. Pastor Michael Njoroge - Pastor Njoroge of Fire Ministries has been nicknamed “pasta tapeli”.  His church is a prostitution den and he usually sleeps with every woman who asks for his prayers.

9. Pastor Wahome – He is the founder of Helicopter of God Ministries Church which is located within the City Centre. He is a polygamous man with a strong affinity for married women. He is another fake pastor.

10. Pastor John Nduati of God’s Power Church along Thika Road. This man is pathetic. 97% of his preaching is all about money. This man is a copy cat of pastor Kanyari. He corroborates most of his financial begging with the verses in The Holy Bible. The man stage manages his miracles like Kanyari. He mostly dupes women from Dandora, Kariobangi , Baba Dogo and Huruma Estates

If you love God keep off from simple fake miracles that are ungodly ……   You have been warned!
