Road Accidents in Kenya on the Rise

According to the government statistics accidents are on the rise for this period of January to March compared to the same period in 2011. The report further reveals that the super highway in Nairobi commonly known as Nairobi Thika highway have claimed 27 lives in so far. 

The report further states that 732 were killed, 854 were seriously injured, 1791 seriously injured. Only last week Ahero road Accident in Kisumu County claimed the lives of eight mourners who were travelling to a burial died after the matatu they were travelling in was involved in a tragic road accident

Sunday 25th March an accident along Limuru road killed four people on the spot. The accident involving a Toyota G-touring a matatu Van and a bus. The accident was blamed on reckless driving and passengers not using seat belts.
