The Commission on the Implementation of the Constitution has suspended five officials over alleged embezzlement of funds.
The CIC has ordered investigations over the allegations touching on the heads of finance, human resource and three accountants.
CIC
chairman Charles Nyachae told the Nation
that the commission had questioned documents relating to some transactions and
decided to take action.
He
said the issue was discovered as the commissioners went through the documents.
"Attention
of the Commission was drawn to by an internal document which on the face of it
points to some irregularities.
"We,
therefore, decided to call investigations to determine whether there are any
irregularities and to facilitate this we suspended the officers,” Mr Nyachae
said.
